A: Used cooking oil can be hand carried to the collection container. As an alternative, some customers prefer the Shortening Shuttle, a wheeled unit which enables you to more conveniently and safely transport oil from the fryer to the collection container.

Q: My business generates a large volume of waste oil. Can EnviroVac provide a direct connection from the fryer to the collection container?

A: When there is a large amount of used oil and the building layout will allow, EnviroVac can install a direct line from the fryer to the collection container. The customer can then evacuate the used oil by using a valve and switch mechanism that is clean, safe and convenient.

Q: Do I have to have an employee present during the removal process?

Q: What does EnviroVac do with the used oil that has been collected?

A: Once waste oil has been collected, our tank trucks transport it to one of our processing plants where it is converted into yellow grease. This entire process - from collection to finished product - takes less than 24 hours. At that time the yellow grease is ready for shipment to one of our many end users.

Waste cooking oil is frequently used as a feed supplement for cattle and poultry. Once the fatty acids are removed, the residual can be used in making soaps, cosmetics, detergents and rubber tire compounds. More recently, yellow grease has been used to produce biodiesel. Biodiesel is blended with diesel fuel and used as a fuel alternative which burns cleaner than diesel alone.
